On Jan 20th Eric Irivuzumugabe, the author of "My Father, Maker of the Trees," from Rwanda, Africa, will be landing in Chicago O’Hare Airport, entering a 'real' winter for the first time in his life. I have to say that I cannot wait to see his face when that first blast of icy Chicago wind whips up and takes hold of his entire consciousness. The poor man has never even seen snow. He was here in Wisconsin in July of 2007 and wore a long sleeve T shirt and a sweatshirt every day; including a hat and sometimes gloves....lol. Eric has been experiencing many new things since the publication of his book this past September. From Jan 20 to Feb 20, Eric's schedule will be filled with book signings, speaking engagements, interviews and well, snow.

In our area, Eric will be the guest speaker at our Annual Dinner for the Rwandan orphans on Friday, Jan 29, and he will be doing a book signing at Women Celebrate on Saturday, Feb 13. Also at the Carpenter Christian Gift and Home Decor on Main Street in Little Chute he will be having a "Meet the Author" book signing on Thursday, Jan. 21. Updates to Eric's schedule will be current on the Shouts of Joy Ministries web site.
