As a young child, I began realizing that I was seeing and hearing things that others could not. My family and close friends were attempting to understand what was happening, because many of the things that I was sharing about the future were actually coming to pass.
In high school, I gave my life to Christ and began to study the Word of God to see if I could find a biblical explanation for these experiences. I began to understand that I had been given the gift of prophecy and that God wanted this gift submitted to His headship.
I found that the gift of prophecy was mentioned frequently in the New Testament. A group of prophets, including Agabus, traveled from Jerusalem to Antioch (Acts 11:28). Prophets were prophesying in the church at Antioch (Acts 13:1), Tyre (Acts 21:4), and Caesarea, where the four daughters of Philip prophesied (Acts 21:8–9).
The gift of prophecy was also mentioned as being used in the churches at Rome (Rom. 12:6), Corinth (1 Cor. 12:7–11; 14:1–40), Ephesus (Eph. 2:20; 4:11; see also Acts 19:1–7; 1 Tim. 1:18), and Thessalonica (1 Thess. 5:19–22). And the book of Revelation is filled with prophecy.
Learning the scope and breadth of the gift has been a difficult yet amazing process. In 2001, after two very severe heart attacks, I had a vision in which I was given a message for the church and healed to prove its legitimacy. That is when the gift of prophecy in my life reached further and grew in authority.
Today, I am prophesying to the Body of Christ internationally both on the ground and online, while being submitted to Christ and the local body that I am called to.
