Been doing some research on Jim Wallis this afternoon. Here are some quotes that I found:
“Jesus proclaimed, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand … He is saying that a whole new order is about to enter history, and if you want to be a part of it, you will need a change so fundamental that the Gospel of John would later refer to it as a “new birth.” Being born again was not meant to be a private religious experience that is hard to communicate … but rather the prerequisite for joining a new and very public movement – the Jesus and kingdom of God movement.”[vii] `Jim Wallis
On the Kingdom:
“The kingdom of God, which Jesus came to inaugurate, is meant to create an alternate reality in this world, and ultimately to transform the kingdoms of this world.[x]”
This quote is really off. He is doing exactly what the disciples of Jesus were doing before they finally understood that the Kingdom of God was the spiritual kingdom. This is so wrong people. It uses the words of Jesus to advance a political agenda that doesn’t even line up with scripture to begin with.
Sojourners (Wallis) On Bible Prophecy:
” It’s all too easy to make fun of the extreme examples of prophecy belief that we encounter on bumper stickers and best-seller lists. When people talk breathlessly of the dangers of Universal Product Codes and automated teller machines as signs of the impending Tribulation, giggles and head shaking are hard to repress … when we ridicule apocalyptic interpretations of bar codes and the European Common Market, we are … properly rejecting an interpretive method that (suggests a) correspondence between biblical events and symbols, and our own lives. Ought Revelation to be included within the family of Christian texts, or should it be thrown on the fire of apocalyptic excesses?[xii]”
Here is a quote by M. Danielsen~ “Wallis says in his book that the majority of his audience is under thirty and half of those are under 25. He speaks frequently at major secular universities and now even at conservative Christian colleges. This is how it was done back in the 60s when Wallis was young; today’s liberal thinkers got their worldview from the counterculture agendas of America’s universities. But lest you think Wallis himself is just another counterculture hippie type out there on the fringes of the establishment – note this Sojourners picture taken at the “World Economic Forum.” This is the annual invitation-only event in Davos, Switzerland, that brings together the world’s most influential politicians and economists as they work to bring the world under a global authority.”
Here is a very interesting article that I found and in it’s prelude it states that Wallis will be the Key Note speaker at Lifest in Oshkosh WI this summer.
After getting all of the research to a friend in Green Bay who has connections to the Christain radio station there that promotes Lifest the Director Mike LeMay spoke with Bob Lenz about Wallace. Here is a link to a segment the local news did on the outcome: https://www.christianpost.com/news/christian-music-fest-draws-fire-over-jim-wallis-invitation.html
Now after reading this, please take a moment and re-read the Ichabod word from the Lord in my last newsletter. I want to add here that this article: Ichabod was written before I knew any of this was even going on. I say that so you can add this fact to your understanding as you discern how very very serious this issue and word from the Lord is.
I will post the links here because they don’t seem to be accessible from inside the article:

Check out this video. Amazing. What do you think????
JIm Wallis is t least one sane voice among all the confusion.
Jim Wallis is breath of fresh air.He tries to talk reason and logic.”Come let us reason together”.His opponenets try to block the difference of opinion.God guides them to straight path.
One confusion leads to another.
So many contradictory explanations come because there is no original text in original language.
Is there a way we can find out how much money Lifest is getting from this guy comming here? directly or indirectly? Smell a rat! mmmmmmm mabey, anyone out there look these things up just to make sure.
After exhaustively studying in context both sides of the argument for and against his teachings, only two things matter to me: First, what’s his conversion testimony and does it jive with Scripture? Second, does he understand the Gospel and live by it? At best his conversion experience is unconvincing and based on social justice, not repentance and acknowledging Jesus as Lord. At worst his presentation of the Gospel is blasphemous. In a 2005 Interfaith interview he declared that wealth redistribution is what the Gospel is all about. Actually, if you read the Bible it’s clear that the good news is that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son (Jesus) that whoever believes on him as Lord won’t perish for eternity in hell but have everlasting life with him in heaven. But, that’s neither cool nor inclusive so now the gospel (according to Wallis) isn’t about salvation at all but about changing social order. True, he is trying to help the poor, and that’s good. But I encourage you all to follow his own advice and “go deeper” and look at his core beliefs.
Erik, can you share with us where to read/watch that interview from 2005? For those looking for direct sources of information on Wallis’ theology on some key issues, click this link:

I was troubled by two things in this article: His equivocation on the issue of homosexuality within the church. Essentially he says we need to not take a definitive stance on this issue. Churches shouldn’t hold to a standard on this, but allow differences, including the blessing of same sex couples. Yikes!!
The other two issues that troubled me were found his statements saying that abortion, on a moral scale, didn’t rise to the moral level of the sin of slavery. But what did rise to the moral level of slavery, in his mind? You got it: “Global inequality” (and he is speaking here of economic inequality). In other words, he believes that for some people to have more money than someone else, it is morally wrong – much more so than the killing of unborn children.
Lord help us!! These issues demonstrate that this man’s moral compass is seriously out of whack from Biblical truth. What a shame that Life Promotions has seen fit to cancel this guy in light of his skewed morality and theology.

(turns out it was 2006, not 2005. My bad)
Doug and Joie,
No activity going on.Keep the blog perking and thriving.
Looks like you need muslims comments to keep discussion on.Surely discussion is between two opposite views not similar.
Its not a discussion. We are talking about the truth? What is to discuss? I would rather be communicating with like minded individuals not people who want to deny Christ.
But yeah…if they want to deny him then I can carry on rebuking them !?
This is first time I hear that “Truth is afraid of discussion”Bible says “Come let us reason together” and then it says “Truth will set you free” but it scares some people.Interesting? Is in it.
Jay you made a choice based on your understanding and analysis of christian facts. That is your decision. There are many who just inherit faith and are afraid of any hard uncomfortable question.I see that all the time in my church.
Although faith is something that should be hased on hard facts and open to any cross questioning and challenge.
God guide us and our clergy to be open and tolerant.
Surely you can see the difference between a good debate and some man given to a political agenda using the title of Evangelical to hood wink his audience into ideas that run contrary to scripture? Afraid of truth? Truth is not found in debating false ideas. Truth is found in studying the Word. Tolerance is for the politically correct. A christian doesn’t tolerate a man that opposes his views, he loves them and gives his life to show him, teach him Christ, the only truth that can set him free.
Joie,I have a question in context with Jay.
What is better, whether a christian becomes an atheist or becomes a muslim?
Joie,
You say a christian doesn’t tolerate a man who opposes his views. This is how crusaders behaved, that was the basis of inquisition(forcing whole North and South America converted with sword)Thats how whole muslim Phillipine converted to christianity from Islam on the basis of “either become christian or get killed”.Is this lack of tolerance that you say as tolerance is only a political feat in accordance to the teachings of Jesus. What impression christianity gives to the world?
Then you insist on the “Sacredness of Scripture”.My question is which scripture. Each sect has its own scripture and every scripture has undergone multiple revisions. Can one say it to be even remotely divinely protected?.
Joie why didn’t you reply and blessed the audience with your intellectual insight to my question in context with Jay?
Is it because,it will be politically incorrect ?
Is any body home?
No activity,it is getting boring.
Pretty boring indeed.
Colin, discussions increase knowledge, make one confident in presenting his views if they are correct and correct them if they are not.Yes if one is not so sure of where he stands and still is arrogant then he/she will avoid discussions.
Doug,
Between Jesus and Paul who is great and righteous and closer to God?
Paul was closer to God since Jesus was and is God:
“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross” (Colossians 1.16-20).
Doug,
Thanks for your reply but now comes another question. How can one allow Pauls contradictory advices supersede that of Jesus?.Does it makes sense?
Imagine a vice principal or a teacher is allowed to supersede the directions and orders of principal. Will there not be chaose in school? Can that be allowed.?
To both Doug and Tom.
As a matter of fact there are many questions that arise.
E.g.
If Jesus is God and Paul was closer to him, then surprisingly he allowed a man to get the status of saint by being closer who was a christian bounty hunter all his life and never even met him.
Jesus died,How can God die?
If Jesus was God who was he praying to when he prayed.
If Jesus was God he used to eat food and then relieve himself of unwanted residue.Does God relieve himself?
If Jesus died, who ran the universe?
One confusion leads to another.Islam gives answers to all such confusion and leads its followers on to the straight path ,path of peace and salvation both in this life and hereafter.
To know more about truth you can google the deen show, see the correct spelling.
Knowledge never hurts,as a matter of fact if we all followed knowledge world would be a better place to lvie.
